Stay updated with construction activities that may impact local residents and people travelling to Melbourne Airport.
Sunbury Road works
We're making changes to Sunbury Road at the northern end of the airport. These roadworks are in preparation for construction of the third runway, to allow for safe entry and exit of trucks and vehicles onto airport land. You can read more about the works in the fact sheet below. This will cause disruptions for traffic, and we apologise for the inconvenience. A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for safety throughout the entirety of the construction period. Please follow posted signage and drive with care through the construction zone. Please plan ahead for your journey and expect delays.
Arundel Creek Treatment Facility
We're preparing to build a new water treatment facility along Arundel Creek at the southern end of the airport site. This facility will ensure that rainwater that flows off our planned expansion projects, including the third runway, is treated before it reaches local waterways. This will help prevent dirt and other pollutants flowing downstream from the airport site. Early site works have started on the Arundel Creek Treatment Facility site. Local community and road users may notice some additional heavy vehicle movements on Annandale Road during this time.
